- Flemming's caption typed on reverse side of image reads, in full: "This magnificent cathedral of St Peter, though crowded close by the city. rises way above it all and becomes the distinguished landmark for mies around. Begun in 1275, it was completed except for the towers some 250 years later. The elegant open-work spires were not completed till 1896. Regensburg, Ger -- 29 July 45."
