Left to right: Clarence (1882-1955), Alice (1884-1965), Clayton Mark Jr. (1889-1948), Lydia (1892-1962), Phyllis (1898-1984), Cyrus Wolfe (1900-1983), Scytha (1902-1968), Fritz (1904-1978), Anna Mark Rockefeller (1906-1996) Anna Mark Rockefeller was introduced to her husband investment banker Avery Rockefeller, son of financier Percy Avery Rockefeller, by her brother Fritz who met Avery when they were classmates at Yale University. Avery Rockefeller and Anna Mark Rockefeller were much committed to the environment and were benefactors to many conservation and preservation efforts, including the National Audubon Society. They were particularly fond of birds and named their home "Birdsong". Cyrus Wolfe Mark, President of the Clayton Mark & Company for many years and the first Executive Director of the Illinois Chapter of the Nature Conservancy was instrumental in the success of fund raising for one of the first land purchases in the region, Volo Bog. He also served on the Board of Governors of the national organization, The Nature Conservancy.
