Description
  • Epistle (a cedula) from the court of Pope Leo X, written in Rome and dated to November in the first year of his papacy (1513). Trace of a red seal, which is no longer attached to the document, seen on the face of the document. Marginal note on lower, left-hand side of document references "cardinali de pucijs." This note likely refers to Lorenzo Pucci, who was made a Cardinal by Pope Leo X on September 23, 1513 and who served as the Pope's personal secretary.
