The November 1962 issue of Cross-Currents explains how the publication came by its name: “Since I.U. Center News is no longer a suitable name (we are now a campus) the staff of your school paper felt we should have a new one…[Cross-Currents] reflects our purpose. We want to present news of current events reporting both points of view in a suitable and factual way.” Cross-Currents (1962-1964, volumes 13-14) maintained continuous volume numbering with predecessor IU Center News (1950-1962, volumes 1-12).
